System Maintenance:
Central heating systems carry a large volume of water in its system in pipework and radiators. This water when mixed with metal pipes will result in rusty internal pipework and radiators. A black silt type of mess is the product of this reaction, which sits, usually in the bottom of radiators. The life expectancy is drastically reduced. There are chemical agents and solvents that you can purchase to clean a central heating of which an added bonus is that they also give some protection. A Barking Plumber can carry out maintenance and servicing schedules.
Pipes:
Pipes fitted in these systems are usually 15mm for the radiators. The pipes you have fitted could be much bigger, in which case you probably have an older ‘one pipe’ heating system, where the water is circulated through the loop and then being diverted by convection to all the radiators.
Sealed Heating System:
Sealed systems have something called an expansion tank or vessel fitted. This lets the water flow into the system once it is heated. There should be a pressure gauge fitted that will indicate visually the system’s operating pressure. Barking Plumbers are an experienced professional service.
The Boiler:
Central heating boilers have a serial number that denotes the model and make, so you know what system is fitted with. This is done in the event of an emergency or failure.
Combination Boiler:
The combi-boiler (as it is known) has no need for tanks and pipes to be fitted in the loft. They are a sound economic option as they will only heat the water that is to be used. A disadvantage, if any, is that while the water in the hot tub is really hot, flow tends to be quite slow. Good option for smaller properties.
Water Circulation:
Some homes have the water in the radiator pipes circulated by the force of gravity. This is called convection. Whereas in other properties, it can be circulated by the use of a pump and electric valves that force the water through the cylinder.
